How would you know if someone stole your mind? Some guy exhumed this original TV spot, which is in keeping with the original poster above:
Total Recall was definitely a monster of my brother's generation, one of those event movies that I was honestly a little worried about seeing. This was clearly at the height of Arnold's powers, as indicated by his one-name status. But what's worth noting about Schwarzenegger is that, at a time in his career, and in an era where you might expect a string of endless, mindless pulp (like the more recent Collateral Damage), the Schwarz continued to selectively appear in engaging, intelligent action films, and of course helped to shut the game down for nearly a fucking decade with T2. So, I guess what I'm saying is... ARNOLD FOR PRESIDENT 2012!!! He's more than proven himself in the future.
They totally should have recalled how boss their original tagline was when they were drawing up the poster below. Get Ready For The Ride of Your Life. is weak like diner coffee.

This post was indeed inspired by a video compilation of every death in Total Recall. I'm gonna have to guess Arnold mows about 40 space-goons at least.
I might add, another action star who deserves one-name status is DiCaprio: he's Scorsese's darling, more than DeNiro ever was, he's still called to do stuff like "Revolutionary Road", and I pee a little everytime I see this trailer for Inception. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HilwtqaN4Gs
ReplyDelete"Your Mind Is The Scene Of The Crime" is a nice tagline, and Christopher Nolan is probably about to crack my coconut with this one.
