Astronauts are that strange breed of human who encompass courage, intelligence, and physical aptitude - In short: "the right stuff". In honor of Veterans Day, 11/11 2009, I salute all astronauts as soldiers of the new frontier. You wagered everything to push the boundaries of our collective possibility, and imagination. Your war was with the ultimate limitation of this painfully, beautifully solitary planet. I'll close with a quote from the real first man in space: "Circling the earth in the orbital spaceship I marvelled at the beauty of our planet... People of the world! Let us safeguard and enhance this beauty - not destroy it!"
